Space Shuttle

These are photographs of US Space Shuttle related items. The first set are of the full sized mockup (named Explorer) on display at Spaceport USA in Florida.

The second set of photos detail the underside tile pattern of the Columbia early in the shuttle program.

The third set of photos are a walk-around series of shots of a Space Shuttle Main Engine on display at the Launch Complex 39 Observation Gantry.

The fourth set of photos are of the Atlantis in the VAB while it was being refurbished for display at the Kennedy Space Center visitor complex. Unfortunately, it was behind a fence and the lighting was very poor, but I managed to get a few shots of it.

The fifth set of photos are of the Discovery in the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the National Air and Space Museum.

The sixth set of photos are scans of my old and somewhat faded slides that I shot of the Enterprise on top of its 747 carrier aircraft when it was on the ground at then Ellington Air Force Base in 1978.
